Celebrating Bristol Pride 2022

This summer we are thrilled to be involved again with celebrating Bristol Pride, one of the largest Pride events in the UK, and after a two year absence 2022 is set to be bigger and better!

Between 25th June – 11th July events are being held in venues all over the city, with Bristol Pride Day taking place on Saturday 9th July at The Downs. We are very excited to be partnering with Bristol Pride again this year as the overall beer supplier with our Helles (Unfiltered Lager) and Wanna Go To The Sun (Pale Ale). On Pride Day we will also be supplying a draft beer bar for the festival where a range of our fresh and delicious beers will be flowing.

Daryn Cater MBE, Director of Programming and Partnerships for Bristol Pride, has been involved in planning the events for the last 13 years and was awarded his MBE by the Queen in 2020 for his services to the LGBTQ+ community in Bristol. About this year’s Bristol Pride, Daryn says, “It is really exciting to be back to a physical festival after 2 years and great to bring the community together again. To see the smiling faces and rainbow flags flying again will be a special moment.”

June is officially designated as Pride month and this year is particularly special as it marks 50 years since the first Pride march in the UK, which began in London in 1972. As well as a celebration of inclusivity and diversity, Pride commemorates those who fought for their rights during the Stonewall Riots of 1969. “It is amazing to see how far we have come in the last 50 years,” says Daryn, “but unfortunately we are still having to march for equality rights and against hatred. It feels poignant to have the march back at the same time as the 50th Anniversary.”

Inclusivity is at the heart of Lost and Grounded Brewers and we feel it is crucial for us to help promote diversity within our community which is why we are proud to partner with Bristol Pride again this year. When asked about the upcoming event, our Co-Founder Annie Clements said “Pride is a movement and festival with inclusivity at the heart of it, a value we also share as one of our cores as a business. We are very excited to be part of the festivities again this year and proud to be saying ‘Cheers to 50 years’ as we look towards the next fifty years of Pride.”

Bristol Pride is a registered charity formed by volunteers that work throughout the year to challenge discrimination and promote equality through events, consultations services and school visits.  For more information on the event details and the amazing work that Bristol Pride do then visit: https://bristolpride.co.uk/

We can’t wait to see you all on the 9th July for Pride Day, to raise a beer and celebrate 50 years of Pride!

Love,

Team Lost and Grounded x
