We Are Everyone for International Women’s Day

Back in February we brought together all the brilliant women of Lost and Grounded to collaborate on our first ever all-female led beer to celebrate International Women’s Day, and we’re so excited to share the results with you! Introducing, We Are Everyone, our 5% Weissbier!

The Beer

For our take on a classic Weissbier we used a base of Pils malt, as well as a good dose of wheat, to give this beer its hazy appearance and soft mouthfeel. Hefeweizen yeast lends its classic banana and clove character, which is balanced by the light, citrusy notes of Mandarina Bavaria hops, ending with a fresh effervescence. A single decoction technique, traditional for this style, adds just a bit more colour and underlying biscuity character to the finished beer.

The Message

In the early stages of this beer’s creation, from writing the recipe to designing the artwork, we had a clear focus on how we wanted this beer to taste, as well as the message behind it; the name, ‘We Are Everyone’, was chosen to symbolise this year’s International Women’s Day theme of ‘Inspiring Inclusion’; the artwork illustrates a diverse community of people joining hands for equality. It was also incredibly important to us that as well as representing unity, our beer actively contributed towards a more inclusive future, which is why 10p from every can – and £1 from every pint sold at our launch event – is going to Womankind Bristol, a registered charity who aim to help women improve their mental health and well-being through affordable and free therapy.
