BRAVE NOISE LAGER

Bristol Craft Beer Festival is always a fun event for us at Lost and Grounded Brewers, but this year is set to be even more special as we launch our new collaboration beer, Brave Noise 4.6% Lager. Festival organisers We Are Beer have teamed up with Brave Noise to promote inclusivity and diversity within the brewing industry for their festivals in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham (Beer Central), Glasgow as well as London which is celebrating its 10th year this year.

It all began with Brienne Allan’s question ‘Have you ever experienced sexism in the beer industry?’ which got everybody talking and ignited an online BEVOLUTION. Brave Noise was born from this movement to honour those who have shared their stories and to raise awareness of anti-discrimination across the beer industry. It’s main goals are to encourage safe and inclusive environments for women, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. With UN Women UK reporting that over 70% of women have experienced some kind of sexual harassment in public it has never been more important for the beer industry to enact change.

We felt humbled when Brienne contacted us about taking part in a collaboration brew with We Are Beer and Brave Noise. Inclusivity is at the core of our values and we feel honoured to join the 262 breweries from across the world taking part in this project. We were thrilled to invite Tom Maya from We Are Beer, Emma O’Neill-Parsons from Merakai Brewing Co. and Helen Anne Smith from Burum Collective to join us on brew day.

Our Brave Noise American-Style Lager has been brewed with the summer festival season in mind. The addition of flaked maize gives this lager a soft palate whilst the Crystal hops bring aromatics of woody, citrus notes – think lush woodland forests dappled by the summer sunshine! Light and crisp, this is an easy drinking lager to be enjoyed with friends or family.

Although we know change can’t happen overnight it is important to us to help start conversations into how we can promote diversity and inclusivity within our own practices as well as to the wider beer community. This is also reflected in our code of conduct which states our commitment to creating a safe space for our customers and our team. We will also be donating £1500 from sales from our Brave Noise Lager to Womenkind Bristol, a local cause that is close to our hearts. Womenkind help support women’s mental health and wellbeing through various personal issues such as low income, domestic violence or abuse.

To learn more about the great work Womenkind do then visit: https://www.womankindbristol.org.uk/  and to learn more about the Brave Noise initiative then head to: https://www.bravenoisebeer.com/.

We will be serving our Brave Noise Lager alongside some of our Lost and Grounded favourites at this year’s We Are Beer Festivals. It will also be available at the brewery tap room and from the webstore this Friday 10th June.

Love,

Team Lost and Grounded x
